Department of Clinical Microscopy aims to share our knowledge, in the field of medical laboratory technology, and help and take care of people of all ages. Therefore, for more than 10 years, our department has initiated society projects.

Premarriage blood Screening test project

This project helps young couples before marriage and prior to having children. This activity provided blood screening services including complete blood count, Thalassemia screening test and related laboratory consultation. This project aimed to prevent serious congenital diseases in children.

Parasite-free project for children in orphanage

Our department highlighted the goal to apply classroom learning to real-world situations. The project effectively bridges the gap between theory and practical application for students while benefiting society. The faculty and students joined forces to share knowledge and provide parasite diagnosis services for children residing at the Pakkret Orphanage Home for Boys in Nonthaburi province from April to June every year. This project included teaching of children about personal hygiene, and effective hand washing, to reduce parasite infection risk.

Malaria-free project for community residents in the border areas of Thailand

The Department of Clinical Microscopy organized the Malaria-free project in collaboration with the RaksThai Foundation, Supanimit Foundation, and Alight Thailand. The goal of this recently launched project is to provide malaria screening services using rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) and molecular testing for people at risk, including ethnic groups and villagers in border areas. This project may help to reduce the spread of malaria, supporting the malaria elimination project in the community.

Urine testing project for the elderly in nursing homes

This project aims to provide urinalysis services for the elderly in nursing homes to increase their access to health checks. Urinalysis can screen for health problems, diagnose diseases, or monitor treatments.

Each project was a free of charge service for the people in the community. The goal was to initiate classroom learning and research into society services.  The collaboration between our instructors, medical technologists and students who volunteered in the community to serve society. Our activities served as the National Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Policy of the global community, Goal 3 Good Health and Well-being, ensuring happiness. good condition and promote well-being for all at all ages (Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages).
